Razor Pocket Mod Review
The first thing you will notice is the impressive design and colors available with the Razor Pocket Mod scooters. They do look just like mini adult scooters complete with front and rear lamps so it’s no wonder they are a big hit with kids.
Colors and styles available are: Red, The Betty in lilac, Hello Kitty (pink and white), Sweet Pea (pink and white with tassels), The Vapor (Black) and the Hot Mod (Black and White). A good selection for both boys and girls.
The chain driven 250 watt gives constant power to the scooter for going up hills without struggling. However the scooter is at its best on flat surfaces and it can reach speeds of up to 15 miles an hour.
The scooters are fitted with 12 inch pneumatic tires along with a rear suspension system. This gives the rider a smooth and comfortable ride which comes in handy for those unexpected bumps and lumps in the road.
As I said safety was my main concern when investigating and researching these scooters. So I was relieved to learn that although they can reach speeds of up to 15 miles per hour they have a grip controlled throttle.
This means that the child is in full control of the speed and can speed up or slow down without taking their hands of the handle bars. The scooter is able to go fast enough for the kids to have fun but not too fast that it can’t be controlled.
The braking system is also installed on the handle bars so that it is easy to make a complete stop. It is very similar to a normal bike or scooter in that respect.
Every Razor Pocket Mod comes with a fully built in rechargeable battery so there is no need to mess about with removable batteries. As we all know most children will want to ride the scooter right away and the good thing is the manufacturer has taken this into consideration.
Every scooter comes fully charged and ready to go and you can get up to 10 hours of fun on a single charge.
It is very easy to recharge the battery as there is a slot on the bike. Using the power cable supplied you just plug it into an electrical wall socket leave it until it is fully charged. The battery takes about five hours to recharge when it runs out.
The retractable center mounted kickstand allows you to keep the scooter upright when you need to charge it or when it’s not in use.
The seat is padded for comfort but best of all for the kids is it lifts up and has a ‘secret’ compartment to pack their ‘gear’. Really it’s only ideal for snacks or other little nic nacs but not big enough for kitchen sink. Although I’m sure they will try their best to stuff as much in as they can.
The scooter is delivered almost fully assembled but it does require some parts to be attached, such as the handles. From all the research I have done this is relatively simple to do and comes with full instructions and shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes. Another concern I had was the noise the scooter would make but it is surprisingly quiet. I I thought it would sound just like an adult scooter but because it is electric it is virtually silent, good news for the neighbors (and me!). There are no harmful emissions because it is electric so it’s environmentally friendly too.

Wear a safety helmet (you can get helmets that match the scooter) it really is a must.
The scooter is recommended for children aged 12 and above with a 150 pound weight limit. Although from all the customer reviews I have read parents and grandparents have bought them for younger children.
Just make sure that the child is able to sit squarely on the seat and place both of their feet flat on the ground. They also need to be able to move or shift their weight and reach the throttle and brake easily. Apparently the lighter you are the better the scooter performs on the road.

Razor Pocket Mod Negative Reviews
I have found very little on the negative side for these scooters. Out of all the reviews (339) I found one that said he found the tires a bit awkward to pump up because of the angle. There were no other comments from other reviewers regarding this so I assume that this was not an issue for others as no one else had included it in their review.
Another reviewer mentioned the battery length didn’t seem long enough but others have seemed to be quite positive in this respect, as it is a toy and is not meant for long journeys but for riding around the neighborhood or park. Children tend to stop and start usually to visit or stop and chat with friends.
